I’m not sure whether this should be the title for this post but I just wanted to share a small incident that happened in class. We have a professor who values the so called first impression the best impression thing a lot. He always tell us one thing. A student should stand up three times in class. One when the teacher enters the class. Two when his/her name is called. Three when the teacher leaves the class. Today he was teaching and it was almost lunch time. Still he was not leaving. After skipping the breakfast I was getting hungrier and hungrier and him not leaving was really pissing me off. Usually I sit at the back but today for some unknown reason I sat in the first bench. So I couldn’t do anything other than listening to his lecture. At last after a delay of 20 minutes he left. I was so hungry that I was collecting my things to run for lunch and I didn’t see him leaving the class. Suddenly one of my friends came and told me ‘Hey why didn’t you stand up when sir left, He was staring at you like hell’. Oh Gosh, did he? I mean I didn’t even notice. I stand up when teachers come and leave all the time even when others don’t. But sitting at the back no one notices. Now when I forgot one day he have to stare at me like I was guilty. He must now be having a bad impression about me that I have no respect for teachers.
These sort of things sometimes happen to you. You do the home work teacher gives you everyday and teacher doesn’t ask about it the next day. One day when you feel lazy and you don’t do it the teacher asks for your home work the next day. Suddenly the teacher gets the impression that you are a lazy bone that doesn’t do his work. One day of laziness has suddenly over shadowed days of hardwork.
Sometimes you study regularly and the teacher doesn’t put any test. Then you take a day off in between. You go to the class without studying and that day there might be a test. One off day and you get low marks and suddenly teacher starts thinking that you are not interested in studies
Well I think I’ve discussed a lot about studies here may be due to the fact that I haven’t really graduated from being a student in my life. Why does everyone expect us to be perfect always? Just like others expect us to be perfect we expect others to be perfect too. Like our newspaper boy who comes everydayat the right time. But in between if he has an off day and comes late I’ve seen my dad getting really pissed off and agitated. Similar is the case with my mom and my milk man.
But these things happen not only in these scenarios but in other cases as well. Sachin plays at his best always. But in between when he fails we start talking about his retirement. Same is the case with our favourite movie stars too when he delivers a bad movie we say he is done.
These things happen always and it reminds us that no one is perfect. We just need to take things in our stride and move on. It is a way of telling us that life is full of unexpected things and happenings. So just enjoy your life and move ahead.
Username:xxxxxxxx Password:********. Have you ever counted how many times you give those in a day? Well i’m sure at least some must have lost their count.
We get up in the morning thinking of checking our mail. There we start by entering our username and password. Then we think of downloading something and we will be shown a sign up screen. That means another new set of passwords for us to remember. Most of our day to day activities now revolve around these passwords. Our online banking, all sorts of ticket reservations, online purchasing, online billing, social networking and then of course our blogging sites everyone wants passwords.
But you can’t blame anyone. Its for your safety only. But how many can we store in our brain. OMG, my head is spinning with too much passwords going around. Even the password needs to be in a specific order with alphabets, numbers, special characters and such things. We can not give same passwords to all. That would mean if some one gets our password he can hack on to anything related to us. That can be dangerous. So how am I going to remember all these? May be I can have a file where I can store all these passwords. Then again I might need another password to secure this top secret file.
It is better to remember the passwords than writing it down anywhere. But what will happen when you don’t remember it? You want to book a railway ticket online and you can’t remember your password. Damn, Are you then going to miss a train due to a forgotten password. What the hell guys??
Our world is now revolving around these passwords and the best place to store it is our brain. No one can hack into it atleast for the time being. Just store the passwords in there and do not let the passwords eat up your brain.
Well, when I recently passed out of college everyone put a big question in front of me, ‘Hey you got a job?’ After a while you might feel sick of explaining what you are going to do now, how, why, why you chose it and it can go on and on and on. Whatever is that you’re going to do just make sure that you got enough answers to explain it to your people around you. It can sometimes be harder than a job interview
‘Hey you know that boy next door, he completed graduation and he hasn’t found a job yet, wasted his parents money going to college’ , ‘He always fails in the interview, he doesn’t have good communication skills’, ‘He has chosen X job over Y god knows what he is going to do with it’…blah….blah…blah. Why should you be so concerned about others? Are you a sadist rejoicing the fact that he is jobless or are you really concerned about him?
There are certain norms around here in the society that you graduate, find a 10 to 5 job get married and settle down. If you dare to deviate from it and chose to do something unorthodox eye brows are raised. I always wonder why? At the end it’s your life and at least you can have control on your own life right?
But the worst part is when your family also turns their back on you. ‘Hey the boy next door who studied with you is earning 50k now and you’re sitting here and watching TV, what the hell are you going to do about your future? How are you going to survive?’ Well it can be brutal to give answers to your family too along with neighbors and others. That’s when you feel that the world is spinning around you and you need to find answers quickly or you’re going to get trapped.
Well, my friends that’s the irony. You don’t decide for you others do and when that happens you can be rest assured that you won’t enjoy your life. Life can become a hell. Only those guys who break up all the shackles and stand up for themselves will make it big.
Well, first of all let me confess that I’m not here to review the ‘Dexter’ series. But to those who do not understand Dexter let me just tell you that the character Dexter Morgan from the series Dexter is as a blood spatter analyst during day time and a serial killer who kills bad people at night. He is in fact trained by his foster father himself on how to cover his tracks so that he is never caught by anyone.
This is one of my favourite series and one thing that always think when I see this is Why isn’t he there for real? I’m not endorsing the fact that all bad people should be killed. But when you see how effectively our justice system works we are made to feel that we need people like dexter in real life too who can give us at least some justice.
Every day some murder gets reported in the media and many others go unreported. Some gets killed, okay it is unfortunate but more unfortunate is when those who committed it get scot free and come out of the court room with a smile painted on their face while the victims families are inconsolable. Arushi Talwar, Rizwanur Rehman, Nirupama Pathak ……….and the list can continue. Then there is a feeling that if media takes up a case then you can put some pressure on the authotities to do things. Then that would mean that you have to move from one studio to another one press conference to another even before you have ingrained what exactly has happened. It is the police and the court that should give jutice to victims and not media. Then what happens if they are caught.? The long court battles can make the life of the victims family a living hell.
I’m just venting the anger and frustration of those people who live each day in the hope of justice being delivered to them in their life time. The justice system itself need a complete revamp. We are a country were the life sentence is still a mere 14 years while in US a fraudster can have more years than that. So at the end there is only one thing that we can pray for , that is to try and remain safe in what ever way we can so that we don’t have to go through this.
